Bio-Tech Students' Research Published
Three Waubonsie Valley High School students, Kyle Wong, Noman Shah and Guru Bhamra, were notified that their scientific research conducted last spring will be published in GenBank, the most important annotated collection of available DNA sequences used by scientists around the world. The students successfully sequenced a gene found in the DNA of Petroselinum Crispum, commonly known as Italian flatleaf parsley. Their publication in GenBank is the culmination of a year's worth of research as part of Waubonsie Valley's Bio-Tech Club. The project was funded by the Indian Prairie Educational Foundation.
