Schools Make Newsweek's Top Ranking

Newsweek announced Neuqua Valley and Waubonsie Valley High Schools made the publication's 2016 list of America's Top High Schools. Each year, Newsweek evaluates public high schools across the United States. Schools are first ranked on a high school achievement index that is based on performance indicators such as proficiency rates on state standardized assessments. Schools that meet the threshold criteria are then evaluated on a range of college readiness indicators. The top 500 schools are included in the list. Neuqua Valley was ranked 154 and Waubonsie Valley ranked 260. Two District 204 high schools made the list in 2015. Last year, Waubonsie Valley was ranked 393 and Metea Valley was 497.
