Dear District 204 Community,
On behalf of the Board of Education, I'm pleased to inform you that the board voted to extend Dr. Karen Sullivan's contract through June 30, 2020.
As a board, we have been pleased with the seamless transition and the progress seen during her first two years as Superintendent. Under her leadership, our students achieved a record-setting ACT score and performed significantly higher than state averages on newly implemented standardized tests. We applaud her continued focus on preparing our students for their futures — most recently guiding the district in implementing the first phase of its 1-to-1 technology plan that placed Chromebooks in the hands of all middle school students this year. And under her direction, the district began work to phase in air conditioning for our elementary schools without placing the burden on our taxpayers. Dr. Sullivan has also been an advocate for fair school funding reform, ensuring that not only does District 204 not lose crucial state funding, but that all districts in Illinois have fair funding opportunities.
As part of the Board's continued commitment to transparency, you can access a signed copy of Dr. Sullivan's contract below:

We look forward to Dr. Sullivan's continued leadership and are confident she will best serve the District 204 community in the coming years.
Sincerely,
Lori Price, President
