The Indian Prairie Educational Foundation and District 204 honored Rhonda Jenkins, LMC director at Kendall Elementary School, as this month's A+ Award recipient.

Parent Shelly Menendez nominated Jenkins on behalf of several parents from her school. She said parents agree that what sets Jenkins apart is the care she puts into her work. “She has brought the LMC to life and has instilled in our children a great passion for reading, knowledge seeking, and creative uses of technology,” Menendez said. “She has a lively spirit that is infectious and uses each interaction as a teaching and learning moment, not only with our kids, but with parents.”
Jenkins has worked in District 204 for the past 18 years. This is her third year at Kendall Elementary. She said when she saw the opening for an LMC Director she applied because it allowed her to marry together her three favorite things — kids, reading, and technology.
“I absolutely love my job. I have incredible students that I work with. Incredible staff, the principal, parents, I mean everybody. This is an awesome privilege to be in this position,” Jenkins said.
Wells Fargo Advisors are partnering with IPEF and District 204 to help recognize one staff member each month for making a difference for students. To celebrate these outstanding staff members, Wells Fargo Advisors is donating $500 for the staff member to use in his or her school.
