Four individuals submitted nominations for Rowe. Each praised her encouraging attitude and long list of activities she has made possible for students at Metea Valley. Some of the programs Rowe is credited with organizing include culture celebrations, coordinating the Valley Runway program that provides free prom dresses for low-income students, helping with an annual school-wide collection for a local food bank, and training staff on the restorative justice program.
One nominator summed it up by saying, “Jen changes culture and climate. She is a true difference maker.”
Rowe has been an educator for more than 20 years. She has worked in District 204 for the past 13 years and previously worked as an English teacher before being recruited to join the staff at Metea Valley. She was honored to be recognized for her efforts and says it’s easy to come to work when you love what you do.
“The things that you do every day, the little things, they make a big difference,” Rowe said.
Wells Fargo Advisors is partnering with IPEF and District 204 to help recognize one staff member each month for making a difference for students. To celebrate these outstanding staff members, Wells Fargo Advisors is donating $500 for the staff member to use in his or her school.
