At the Nov. 27 Board of Education meeting, administrators recommended moving 215 students next year to alleviate overcrowding at Brooks, Brookdale and Peterson elementary schools. We were anticipating voting on this recommendation at the Dec. 11 meeting, but have decided to postpone this vote until Jan. 8. Board members have been meeting individually with administrators to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges surrounding the overcrowding issue. We have also asked administrators for some additional information based on questions raised at the recent Engage 204 meeting. To be more transparent and share the information with the community, the board will hold a workshop at 5 pm on Jan. 8 at the Crouse Education Center. Both the workshop and the meeting will also be streamed live on the district's YouTube channel.
Thank you to the parents who have provided feedback to the Board of Education. We appreciate your continued support.
