Dear District 204 Community,
As we approach winter break, I want to take a moment to thank you for all you do to support our students. We are fortunate to live in a caring community that supports families needing extra help, especially during the holiday season. I want to express my gratitude to the many community organizations and individuals who generously donated toys, warm clothing, gift cards, their time — whatever was asked of them — to provide for our families.
I also want to say thank you to all our community partners who support our students throughout the school year. One example is the Naperville Area Humane Society and its Paws for Tales program. This unique program brings therapy dogs into our schools to help children of all ages feel more comfortable by reading aloud to a dog in a non-judgmental, supportive environment. We have found the Paws for Tales program goes beyond just helping students improve their reading skills. There are many benefits from interacting with the dogs and their unconditional love and limitless patience
