At the January 8, 2018 Board of Education meeting, board members approved attendance area adjustments to ease overcrowding at Peterson, Brookdale and Brooks elementary schools. The adjustments call for approximately 215 students who attend the three schools to be reassigned. Subdivisions in the attendance areas that are under construction will also be assigned new elementary schools.
The adjustments will begin with the 2018-19 school year. Fifth graders in 2018-19 will have the option to stay at their current school. There will be no changes to middle or high school assignments for current students.
Administrators are in the process of mailing more information to the specific families that will be assigned a new elementary school. The information will have details on the transition process for next year.
