“It’s really critical from the moment a student walks on campus they feel they are in a safe environment.”— Dr. Louis Lee, Assistant Superintendent
District 204 high schools have a new furry addition to their school safety program. Starting this year, “Bear” the safety dog began making unannounced visits to the schools. The specially trained and certified dog can detect a wide variety of contraband substances. Bear and his handler make random visits to schools and do their work while students are engaged in daily activities. The program helps foster a safe learning environment essential to student learning.
