Luciana Rodriguez has been an amazing volunteer at Spring Brook Elementary for the past three years. Because of her dedication to the teachers and students at Spring Brook, she is being named the BMO Harris Bank District 204 Volunteer of the Month.
Luciana has two sons at Spring Brook. Luciana and her family moved to District 204 three years ago from Houston, Texas where she worked as an elementary teacher and assistant principal for ten years. Because she didn't know anyone at the school, she immediately got involved in the PTA, became a room parent, volunteered in the LMC and was one of the co-chairs for the Spring Fling.
In just three short years, Luciana's volunteerism has expanded and her responsibilities have increased. She is now the PTA Vice-President, LMC volunteer coordinator and the co-chair of the Spring Fling. She oversees the room parent program, the fifth grade field trip, the Dough Raising fundraiser, Reflections and the Bingo for Books event. She can be found volunteering at any school event including the Science Fair, Jump Rope for Heart, field trips and field day.
Luciana's nomination states that she not only steps up to help, but she goes above and beyond. It was noted that Luciana is at Spring Brook so often, the teachers joke that she should just work for the school.
Luciana says she volunteers because the teachers and staff at Spring Brook are so dedicated and do so much, that she is happy to help out and give back for all that they do for our students. She believes strongly in the PTA's work to support teachers and students by filling financial needs that the school alone cannot provide.
