Waubonsie Valley High School's Organization of Latin American Students is partnering with Wheatland Community Giftmart to hold a toy drive to benefit under-resourced families in District 204. The toy drive is currently collecting new, unwrapped toys that are safe for children ages 6 to 12.

Giftmart is an innovative program that provides under-resourced families with a “hand up” during the holiday season. Qualifying parents and guardians are given the dignity to purchase each of the toys they select in the Giftmart for only $2 per toy. All proceeds made from the sale are donated back to each participating school for student programs.

Community members who would like to participate can drop off their donation through December 9 during school hours to the Giftmart toy box located inside the main entrance at the following District 204 schools: Waubonsie Valley and Metea Valley high schools— Brooks, Builta, Cowlishaw, Fry, Georgetown, Gombert, Graham, Kendall, May Watts, McCarty, Owen, Patterson, Peterson, and Welch elementary schools and Crone and Gregory middle schools. No stuffed animals or board games, please. Toys should retail $20 and up.

All donations will directly help District 204 students.
