Parent Laura Reynolds is a known at Builta Elementary School for her humor, grace and contagious positive attitude. Because of her continued support of students and staff, she is being named the BMO Harris Bank District 204 Volunteer of the Month.
Laura has three children who have attended Builta Elementary with her third child in fifth grade this year. She currently serves as the PTA president and has volunteered in every capacity to support the school. She is an IPPC member and has organized or volunteered for Monster Bash, room parties, bingo night, Donuts with Dads, Daddy Daughter Dance, Mother Son Event, Fifth Grade Farewell, Club Invention, Legacy Bricks, Spirit Wear, Teacher Appreciation Week, Team IPEF and many more.
Principal Stephens states, "Laura is the person who nominates others for the Volunteer of the Month and A+ Awards, but would never seek recognition for the many things she does for the school and district." With Laura's last child in fifth grade this year, the staff at Builta can't imagine Badger life without her. Her shoes will be difficult to fill as she is woven into the fabric of all that is Builta. She has been an enormous advocate for hundreds of Builta Badgers as she has tirelessly volunteered her time, energy, passion and talents through a wide variety of volunteer activities over the past 11 years.
Laura volunteers because it is fun, the kids are awesome and she's been lucky enough to meet some really great people along the way. While Laura's last year at Builta is bittersweet and there are many things she'll miss, there is one thing she knows with certainty – she will not miss the elementary school pick-up and drop-off carline!
