I understand how frustrating it can be when a new feature or update is released and it doesn’t work as anticipated. It can be a disruption to the work and experience of students, staff and families. It’s not something that we take lightly.
For the second time, this morning we attempted to enable the authentication for Zoom meetings but identified several issues that did not manifest in our original 8,000 student sample, or our user testing, prior to enabling the settings.
The issues we identified resulted in rolling back the authentication setup to ensure that students could access their District courses. As a result, on Friday, at 12 pm students were able to access Zoom as they have in the past using Zoom links or the Synergy links.
We will be forwarding and working directly with Zoom and Edupoint, again, as to why these results were manifested - especially given this is the same configuration that other Districts are using for their authentication and security.
Please know we are committed to working with Zoom and Edupoint on a resolution as soon as possible.
