Monday, September 18, 2017, 11:57 am:

The Naperville Police have informed us there is a large police presence in the area south of 87th Street and east of Route 59 due to a current investigation for an incident in the area. As a result, the police have asked us to secure three school buildings as a precaution only (Welch Elementary, Scullen Middle School, and Neuqua Valley High School). The police have not indicated there is a need to secure any other schools in the area. Should that change, we would follow their guidance and notify parents.

Please note that all of our students are safe and secure and there is no current threat to any students or staff. The school day is taking place as normal with no interruption to our day. This is a precaution only. While our schools are being secured, there will be no exit or entrance to our buildings.

We will let you know as soon as we have an update from the Naperville Police. Thank you.
